Hit-and-Run Shocker on Stakesby Road

Just after 1.30am on Tuesday 28 March, a 63-year-old cyclist was struck by a car while riding along Stakesby Road towards Spring Vale. The vehicle was coming the other way when it hit him.

Cyclist Seriously Injured

The man was left lying in the road with serious injuries. Paramedics treated him at the scene before rushing him to hospital, where he remains in a serious condition.

Driver Flees Scene in Damaged Car

The offending vehicle, believed to be a Vauxhall, suffered obvious damage but sped off without stopping. Police suspect the driver may not have realised the full extent of the crash.

Police Appeal for Witnesses

Anyone who has seen a vehicle with sudden damage or has CCTV footage of the incident is urged to call police on 101, quoting incident number 12230054894. Your information could be vital in tracking down the hit-and-run driver.
