Woman, 42, Killed in Hackney Shooting

Lianne Gordon, 42, tragically died after shots were fired in Vine Close, Hackney, on Tuesday evening, December 5. Police found three people shot, including Lianne, who succumbed at the scene.

Family Pays Heartfelt Tribute

Her family described her as having a “heart of gold” and said: “We are going to miss her immensely.”

Police Launch Murder Probe

Detective Chief Superintendent James Conway, leading Hackney policing, revealed:

“At around 6:30pm, police were called to reports of gunfire. We found three victims with gunshot wounds. Sadly, despite efforts from officers and paramedics, Lianne died at the scene. A 16-year-old boy and a 20-year-old man were also injured but their conditions are not life-threatening.

We believe all victims knew each other but were not related. A murder investigation is underway. We are exploring a possible gang link but it’s too early to confirm a motive.

We’re aware of another recent shooting incident nearby on December 2. Our teams are investigating if the two are connected. Extra officers are on patrol to support the community. We urge anyone with information to come forward.”

Community and Council Respond

Mayor of Hackney, Caroline Woodley, expressed sorrow over the tragedy:

“This is heartbreaking. Our thoughts are with Lianne’s loved ones and the injured. The council is supporting families, schools, and local groups during this difficult time.

While such incidents are rare, the community is naturally shaken. We have outreach workers and council officers providing reassurance on the ground. Anyone with information should contact Crimestoppers anonymously or call police on 101.

Anyone worried about a child or young person can reach out to a council social worker at 020 8356 5500.”
