Sevenoaks Shock: Woman Targeted in Shocking Van Attack
Roadside Manhunt Underway
Detectives hunting a sexual assault suspect in Sevenoaks have ramped up patrols, stopping vehicles and speaking to motorists and pedestrians.
The probe targets a chilling attack that happened at midday on Wednesday, 23 September 2020. A woman was walking along Bradbourne Vale Road when a man approached, asking for help with a sick child.
Horrific Attack Near St John’s Road
The woman followed the man to St John’s Road, where a white van with an open side door waited. The van had a distinctive silver, tarnished roof rack.
Police say the man forced the woman into the rear of the van, closed the door, and committed an indecent act in front of her. The victim escaped after the door was opened again.
Suspect Description
- White male, mid-40s
- Approximately 5ft 8in, stocky build
- Receding shaved hair and stubble
- Wearing a green and blue T-shirt with black emblem
- Baggy faded jeans with a hole in one knee
- Trainers
Police Appeal: Help Find This Man
“We are appealing for anyone who recognises the man in the computer generated image to get in touch,” said Detective Inspector Matt Burdekin of the Tonbridge Vulnerability Investigation Team. “We want to hear from anyone in the area who hasn’t spoken to police yet, and motorists with dashcam footage from the area.”
