Firefighters Bring Blaze Under Control
Fire crews wore breathing apparatus and used high-pressure hose reel jets and main jets to douse the flames. A height vehicle was deployed to tackle the fire spreading in the roof space, halting the blaze’s advance.
By 11:50am, the fire was declared extinguished, though four fire engines remain on site to damp down lingering hotspots.
Cause of Fire Still Unknown
The exact cause of the fire remains a mystery. Investigations will begin once the building is safe to enter.
Authorities have advised residents to steer clear of the area while emergency teams continue their work.
