A massive fire broke out on Friday evening (May 15) at a warehouse in Barking, East London. Thick black smoke pillars soared into the sky, visible across large parts of East London.
125 Firefighters and 25 Engines Tackle Blaze
The London Fire Brigade has deployed 125 firefighters and 25 fire engines to fight the raging inferno at the iSaimaxx builder’s merchant warehouse on Alfreds Way industrial estate, just south of the A13. The single-storey warehouse has been gutted by the flames.
Transport and Safety Disruptions Hit the Area
- The c2c rail service between Barking and Dagenham Dock is currently disrupted due to the fire’s close proximity to the tracks.
- Emergency crews from the London Ambulance Service are also on scene, responding to the incident.
- Authorities have shut down the Lodge Avenue roundabout near the A13 and Alfreds Way to keep traffic away from the danger zone.
- Local residents are urged to keep doors and windows firmly closed amid heavy smoke.
