Man and Woman Charged with Murder and Arson to Appear in Court

A man and a woman are set to appear in Bromley Magistrates’ Court today facing charges of murder and arson.

Mayara Loiola Ataide, aged 34, and Gevaldo Tavares Dos Santos, aged 46, both of no fixed address, were charged with murder on Wednesday, February 28. Additionally, they face two counts of arson with intent to endanger life.

The pair will appear in custody at Bromley Magistrates’ Court today, Wednesday, February 28.

The charges stem from an investigation launched after authorities were summoned to a multi-occupancy house in Glenister Park Road following a call from the London Fire Brigade at 19:07hrs on Sunday, February 25.

Tragically, a 49-year-old man was discovered deceased inside the property. His next of kin have been informed and are receiving support from family liaison officers during this difficult time.

As the investigation continues, authorities urge anyone with information pertinent to the case to come forward. Those who can assist are encouraged to contact 101 and quote CAD 5631/25Feb. Alternatively, information can be provided anonymously to the independent charity Crimestoppers by calling 0800 555 111.

The court appearance of Ataide and Dos Santos marks a significant development in the legal proceedings surrounding this tragic incident.
