Teenager Dies from Falling Tree Incident

In a heartbreaking turn of events, a 16-year-old boy has lost his life after sustaining severe injuries caused by a falling tree in Carlton-in-Lindrick. The incident occurred on Rotherham Baulk and was reported to the police at 11.21 BST on Saturday, 15 June 2024.

Despite the prompt response from police and paramedics, the young boy was pronounced dead at the scene. The community is in shock, and the boy’s family is dealing with an unimaginable loss, requesting privacy during this incredibly difficult time.

Nottinghamshire Police have taken swift action in the wake of this tragedy. Two men, aged 28 and 31, are currently under arrest on suspicion of manslaughter. Additionally, a 28-year-old woman has been detained on suspicion of assisting an offender. All three individuals are being held in police custody as the investigation unfolds.

Detective Inspector Simon Harrison conveyed his condolences to the family and emphasised the ongoing nature of the inquiry. Nottinghamshire Police are urging anyone with information, including potential witnesses and those with CCTV, doorbell camera, or dash-cam footage, to come forward.

This incident serves as a stark reminder of the unpredictability of life and the importance of community support in times of crisis. The authorities are determined to uncover the full circumstances surrounding this tragic event.
