Tesco Offers Free Kids Meals This February Half Term to Support Families

In a move to help ease the financial burden on families during the February school holidays, Tesco cafes across the UK are rolling out a special offer: one free meal for children with every purchase made by an adult. The initiative, part of Tesco’s commitment to supporting families, starts from as low as 60p and includes a variety of nutritious and child-friendly options.

Parents and guardians can choose from several popular menu items for their children, including beans or avocado on toast, fish fingers, baked chicken goujons, or a variety of sandwiches. For those opting for a hot meal, a complimentary vegetable side dish is included, whereas the sandwich Pick ‘n’ Mix meal comes with a piece of fresh fruit and two additional snacks.

Jason Tarry, Tesco UK CEO, emphasized the importance of the initiative, stating, “We know that household budgets can be stretched over the school holidays, so offering free meals to children when they’re off school is one of the ways we can support families during this time.” This initiative is part of Tesco’s broader effort to provide over 440,000 free meals to children and families during school holidays in 2023, demonstrating the supermarket’s ongoing dedication to community support.

In addition to the free meals, Tesco is making further efforts to help families save money by reducing the price of more than 150 everyday items by an average of 12.5% and price-matching hundreds of items to Aldi. Customers can also take advantage of thousands of exclusive deals, with discounts of up to 50% available through Clubcard Prices. For added value, Clubcard vouchers can be exchanged with Tesco Reward Partners, including popular outlets like PizzaExpress and Cineworld. A full list of partners and deals is available on the Tesco website.

To benefit from the free kids meal offer this half term, customers simply need to make a purchase at a Tesco café and show their Tesco Clubcard. With options starting from just 60p, the initiative is designed to be accessible to all, ensuring that children can enjoy a nutritious meal without adding financial stress to their families.

This thoughtful initiative reflects Tesco’s broader commitment to supporting its customers through practical, meaningful actions. By offering free meals for kids and implementing price cuts on essential items, Tesco continues to stand by its promise of helping families across the UK enjoy a more affordable and enjoyable half-term break.
