Blaze Hits Barking Shop Flat: Half First-Floor Destroyed

Chaos unfolded in Barking tonight as a fierce fire tore through a shop with a flat above on Station Parade. Firefighters raced to the scene with eight engines and around 60 crew members battling the blaze.

Brave Firefighters Tackle Intense Flames

Station Commander Paul Green praised his team’s effort, saying, “Crews worked extremely hard in hot arduous conditions to extinguish the fire.” The brigade received the alarm at 7.09pm and had the flames under control by 8pm.

No Injuries Reported as Firefighters Rally

Thankfully, no one was hurt in the fire that wrecked half of the first-floor flat above the shop. Firefighters from Stratford, Poplar, Barking, Plaistow, Dagenham, Millwall, and East Greenwich combined forces to douse the fire.

Cause of the Blaze Still Under Investigation
