Two 16-Year-Old Girls Arrested for Attempted Murder after Double Stabbing in Erith

Two teenage girls, both aged 16, have been arrested after a woman and a teenage girl were stabbed in broad daylight in Erith on Sunday.

The Metropolitan Police launched an urgent manhunt following the attack, which took place just before 3:00pm at The Nursery, a residential area in Erith. Officers and London Ambulance Service paramedics attended the scene and found two victims suffering from knife injuries.

 Fast-Moving Investigation

The Met initially appealed for help in tracing two suspects believed to have fled the scene. Just hours later, two 16-year-old girls were arrested in connection with the incident.

They are currently in police custody on suspicion of grievous bodily harm as detectives continue their investigation.

Police Statement

A Met Police spokesperson said:

“Around 15:00hrs on Sunday, 6 July, officers attended The Nursery, Erith, alongside the London Ambulance Service following reports of a double-stabbing.
Two victims — a woman aged 47 and a girl aged 18 — were treated at the scene and taken to hospital.
Two 16-year-old females have now been arrested. Enquiries are ongoing.”
