A man has been charged with murder following the death of a woman in Edmonton.
Hussain Yusuf Egal, 65 of Penine House, Plevna Road, N9 was charged on Wednesday, 8 April with the murder of his wife, 57-year-old Maryan Ismail.
Egal later appeared at Highbury Corner Magistrates’ Court and was remanded in custody to appear at Old Bailey on Thursday, 9 April.
The charges follow a call to police at 6.04pm on Monday, 6 April to a residential flat in Penine House, Plevna Road, N9 after concerns were raised for the safety of an occupant.
Officers attended and found Maryan unresponsive with serious injuries.
London Ambulance Service attended and Maryan was pronounced dead at the scene.
Her next of kin have been informed.
A post-mortem examination will take place in due course.
