Fugitive Thomas Patton Nabbed at Newcastle Airport
Thomas Patton from Pallister Park went on the run to dodge police but was finally caught on October 16 last year as he arrived at Newcastle Airport.
Assault and Intimidation Charges Stack Up
Following his arrest, Patton faced charges including three counts of assault causing actual bodily harm (ABH), two common assaults, intimidation, plus coercive and controlling behaviour.
Denied Charges But Found Guilty at Trial
In a November court hearing, Patton denied all accusations and was remanded in custody ahead of a two-day trial in late March. The jury convicted him on all seven offences.
Jailed for 3½ Years with Extended Restraining Order
This week, Patton was sentenced to three and a half years behind bars. On top of that, he’ll be hit with a five-year restraining order to keep him under the watchful eye of authorities.
