The bodies were believed to include those of Ivy Webster, 14, and Brittany Brewer, 16, as well as Jesse McFadden, a registered sex offender who the teenagers were seen travelling with.
According to Okmulgee County Sheriff Eddy Rice, the state medical examiner will have to confirm the identities of the victims, but they believe they have found the persons. While the identities of the other bodies have not been confirmed, Sheriff Rice said they likely included members of McFadden’s family.
Officials had issued an amber alert on Monday saying the two teenagers were missing, but it was called off later the same day after the bodies were discovered at the property on Holly Road just outside of Henryetta. Jesse Lee McFadden, 39, a convicted sex offender, was living at the address where the bodies were found.
McFadden had been convicted of first-degree rape in 2003 and released in October 2020, according to Oklahoma Department of Corrections prison records. It is not yet known how the seven people died.
The discovery has sent shockwaves through the local community, with Henryetta Public Schools posting a message on its website expressing its grief over the loss of several students. The school has decided to remain open, but it will undoubtedly be an extremely difficult day for staff and students alike.
Nathan Brewer, Brittany Brewer’s father, spoke to KOTV about his daughter, saying she was an outgoing person and had been selected to be Miss Henryetta for the National Miss Pageant in Tulsa. He expressed his devastation that she would not be able to participate in the pageant.
The investigation is ongoing, and officials are urging anyone with information about the case to come forward.
