Brighton Barber Jailed for Brutal Scissor Attack
Scissors turned weapon in violent spree
A local Brighton barber has been locked up after launching a savage scissor attack on a man last year. On November 29, 2022, 20-year-old Adam Pirot, working on Preston Street, got into a heated row with a 24-year-old customer.
What started as an argument quickly spiralled out of control. Pirot chased the victim out of the shop wielding a pair of scissors, then repeatedly stabbed and slashed him. The victim suffered severe injuries, including a collapsed lung. Quick emergency care prevented an even worse tragedy.
Police swoop and evidence mounts
Officers launched a swift investigation, raiding multiple addresses linked to Pirot. They seized crucial evidence tying him to the attack. Pirot was arrested on December 8, 2022, suspected of grievous bodily harm with intent.
Following forensic tests and further probes, he was formally charged in June 2023 and released on strict bail ahead of trial.
Justice served at Brighton Crown Court
After a tense trial at Brighton Crown Court on June 4, 2024, Pirot was found guilty. He was sentenced to five years behind bars at Lewes Crown Court on January 17, 2025.
Detective Constable Jack Page said, “The injuries were very serious and could have been much worse without swift medical care. We’re pleased justice is served, and a violent individual has been removed from the community, making it safer for everyone.”
