On The Run: Kerry Ann Stevens Still Eludes Police

A former solicitor, Kerry Ann Stevens, 40, remains on the run despite four active warrants for her arrest. Essex Police have just released a fresh mugshot in their desperate search.

Stevens has skipped court at least nine times and fled after being accused of multiple ‘dine-and-dash’ incidents across Essex.

Blown the Bill: Prawn Cocktails, Roast Chicken & More

Stevens, together with her boyfriend Daniel Alani, allegedly dodged payments after feasting at several restaurants. One notorious escapade saw the couple gobble prawn cocktails, breaded mushrooms, two roast chicken dinners, plus drinks — building a £62.20 bill they never paid at The Castle Inn.

Landlord Ken Todd, 76, recounted the chaotic escape: “The man tried to leave through the back door which was locked, and the woman reportedly attempted to flee through the bathroom window.”

Crimes Add Up: From Shop Theft to Taxi Fare Scams

  • Stevens faces 11 charges of making off without payment plus one count of shop theft.
  • The couple were originally arrested at a Great Wakering address on 2 May 2024 and released on conditional bail until July that year — they never returned.
  • Essex Police appealed publicly after the pair vanished, leaving four warrants outstanding.
  • They’ve also been accused of dodging taxi fares — with one driver claiming Stevens screamed at him for refusing a phone charger as payment.
  • Alani has pleaded guilty to theft-related charges; his sentencing is scheduled for next Thursday.

From Law to Lawless: Stevens Struck Off as Solicitor

Stevens was struck off as a solicitor in May 2024 amid mounting allegations and her ongoing flight from justice. Despite her legal background, she’s become a wanted woman for a string of petty crimes.

The hunt is on to bring Kerry Ann Stevens and Daniel Alani to justice after a trail of unpaid bills and no-shows at court. Essex Police urge anyone with information to come forward immediately.
