Laser or Gun-Mounted Light? Police Probe Mystery Bright Source
Initially reported as a laser attack, police have since revealed the light came from a source attached to a gun aimed at the aircraft. The helicopter was conducting a high-risk search when the dazzling light interrupted the mission.

The Crown Prosecution Service has authorised charges against Hawkins for shining a light at an aircraft in flight with intent to distract or dazzle the pilot. He will appear at Isle of Wight Magistrates Court this Friday, facing serious aviation safety offences under Articles 225 and 265(6) of the Air Navigation Order 2016.
