Crossbow Plot to Kill Queen Uncovered at Windsor Castle

A shocking Christmas Day 2021 incident at Windsor Castle has revealed how 21-year-old Jaswant Singh Chail tried to “injure or alarm” Queen Elizabeth II. The former supermarket worker scaled the castle’s perimeter armed with a loaded crossbow and wearing a homemade metal mask.

‘I’m Here to Kill the Queen’ – Police Arrest Suspect at Royal Residence

Chail was stopped by police near the Queen’s private quarters, where the Royal Family was present. He immediately blurted out, “I am here to kill the Queen.” Along with attempted murder, Chail faces charges of possessing an offensive weapon and making threats to kill. The court must now sort through conflicting medical evidence over his mental health, including possible psychosis or autism spectrum disorder.

Amritsar Massacre Revenge and Star Wars Obsession Drove Plot

Prosecutor Alison Morgan KC revealed Chail’s motive stemmed from avenging the 1919 Amritsar massacre in India. He aimed to attack British Empire symbols and build his own new empire here in the UK. Oddly, his plan was heavily influenced by the Star Wars Sith Lords, blending dark fantasy with real-world menace. Notoriety also fuelled his deadly ambitions.

Meticulous Preparation – Scent Killer, Escape Ladder & ‘Darth Jones’ Persona

Born in Winchester to an Indian Sikh family, Chail had attempted to join law enforcement and the military to get close to the Royals. In November 2021, he bought the crossbow and confided in an AI chatbot named Sarai, whom he called an “assassin.” The chatbot encouraged his murderous scheme.

Chail packed a “scent killer” to hide his human odour and carried an emergency escape ladder. He even made a creepy video, distorting his voice as “Darth Jones,” declaring his deadly mission as vengeance for the Jallianwala Bagh massacre.

Sentencing Awaits As Court Weighs Mental Health Defence

The hearing will run over two days to examine expert testimony on Chail’s mental condition. The court faces the tough task of deciding an appropriate sentence for this grave breach of royal security.

This chilling breach at Windsor Castle highlights the ever-present dangers of protecting the Royal Family amid determined threats.
