Andrew Cunningham Pleads Guilty on First Day of Old Bailey Trial
A 62-year-old man has admitted to manslaughter after fatally stabbing his sister in a South London home. Andrew Cunningham confessed to the crime during the first day of his Old Bailey trial.
Sister Fatally Stabbed at Greenland Quay
Police were called to a property on Greenland Quay, near Surrey Quays station, shortly before 3pm on Friday, November 29, 2024. Margaret Cunningham, 57, was rushed to the hospital but tragically died from her injuries later that evening.
Andrew Cunningham, from the same address, was arrested in Rotherhithe and charged with her murder.
Plea Change Shocks Court
Appearing via video-link at the Old Bailey on Monday, Cunningham denied murder but pleaded guilty to manslaughter on the grounds of diminished responsibility.
