Driver Busted with Knife and Drugs in Tunbridge Wells

A motorist has been arrested after police seized a weapon and drugs in Tunbridge Wells, as part of a nationwide knife crime crackdown.

Operation Sceptre Targets Knife Crime

Kent Police are joining forces with other forces across the UK for Operation Sceptre, a national week of action running from 9 to 15 November 2020. The campaign aims to slash knife crime and keep communities safer.

Suspicious Vehicle Stop Leads to Arrest

On Monday 9 November, Tunbridge Wells Community Policing Team pulled over a suspicious vehicle on North Farm Road. A search under the Misuse of Drugs Act uncovered a knife, cannabis, and cocaine in the car. A further search in custody revealed more drugs hidden in the driver’s underwear.

Man Charged and Remanded in Court

Nicolita Andrei Mihai, 28, from Grange Road, Tunbridge Wells, was charged with possession of a knife in public, possession of cocaine with intent to supply, and possession of cannabis.

He was remanded to appear before Medway Magistrates’ Court on 10 November.
