Fury as mastiff attacks puppy in Maidstone street brawl!

Dog attack sparks Maidstone alarm

Police are hunting witnesses after a mastiff went rogue on a toddler beagle in broad daylight. The terrifying incident unfolded around 5.45pm on Tuesday 6 April 2021 along Tonbridge Road, near Bower Place.

Puppy mauled, owner hurt

A brown-grey mastiff, kept on a lead by a man and woman, is accused of lunging at and biting a tiny beagle puppy, which was also leashed. The beagle’s owner rushed to intervene but suffered an injury during the scuffle. Shockingly, the mastiff’s owners fled the scene without helping.

Police plea for witnesses

PC Nathan Weller urged anyone who saw what happened to step forward. “There were lots of people around when this happened. We want to hear from anyone who knows who owns the mastiff or saw the attack,” he said.

“We also want to speak to two members of the public who helped the victim and his dog.”
