A predator who targeted three women in Southampton has been sentenced to three years behind bars. Sohail Amiri, 30, admitted to a string of sexual offences after stalking and assaulting women in the early hours.
‘Just One Kiss’ Predator Strikes Again
On November 25 last year, Amiri singled out a woman walking along Upper Shaftesbury Avenue, Portswood. Without knowing her, he sidled up and told her she was “beautiful” before pleading for “just one kiss.” When she refused, Amiri grabbed her wrist and tried to force himself on her. Thankfully, she broke free and ran to safety.
Hunt Leads to More Shocking Crimes
Police launched an intensive investigation, pouring over CCTV footage, tracking Amiri’s movements, and seizing his clothes. This uncovered a chilling pattern. Back in September, he approached a woman on Westwood Road, Bevois, repeating the same “just one kiss” line. The woman ignored him but later found out the same creep had pushed one of her colleagues while demanding a kiss.
DNA and Phone Data Nail the Beast
Forensic testing caught Amiri out, matching his DNA to saliva found on the Portswood victim. Mobile phone records placed him at the scene beyond doubt. After a thorough police probe, charges were brought against him.
“He repeatedly said ‘just one kiss’ while ignoring the victim’s protests,” a detective said. “His actions were terrifying and unacceptable.”
Earlier this year, Amiri pleaded guilty to two counts of sexual assault, one of attempted sexual assault, and illegally entering the UK.
