Hero Skateboarders Sought After Fatal Oxford Street Stabbing
Two Brave Bystanders Helped Nab Murder Suspect
Detectives are on the hunt for two fearless members of the public who played a crucial role in stopping a violent attack on Oxford Street. A 60-year-old man was fatally stabbed shortly before 8pm on Thursday, 1 July, and sadly died later that day.
Tedi Fanta Hagos, 25, from Ravenhill, Swansea, has been charged with murder. But it was the quick action of two skateboarders that helped bring him down.
Skateboard Used to Pin Down Killer
The daring duo stepped in after the stabbing and tackled Hagos. One even used his skateboard to subdue the attacker, preventing further harm. Luckily, neither skateboarder was seriously hurt during the ordeal.
Despite their heroics, the pair left the scene before police arrived, and their identities remain unknown. Their key involvement only emerged after detectives reviewed CCTV and video footage.
Police Praise Courage, Seek Witnesses
“In stepping forward as they did to apprehend a violent individual, they showed great courage and potentially prevented others from being attacked,” said Detective Chief Inspector Vicky Tunstall, leading the investigation.
“While they used force to subdue the attacker, those actions were entirely reasonable and are not in question. We want to speak to them solely as witnesses.”
