Two Men Charged with High Street Robbery in Gillingham
Victim Threatened After ATM Withdrawal
Two men have been charged with robbery following a brazen attack in Gillingham. The victim, a man in his 30s, was threatened after withdrawing cash from a High Street ATM at around 2am on Tuesday, 8 September 2020.
Companion Also Assaulted During Incident
The victim’s companion, a man in his 40s, was reportedly assaulted by one of the attackers during the robbery. The violent ordeal shocked the local community and sparked a swift response from Kent Police.
Suspects Arrested and Charged
Kent Police’s Chief Constable’s Crime Squad quickly identified and arrested two suspects: Clive Tilly, 38, from Tobruk Way, Chatham, and Dean Martin, 32, from James Street, Gillingham.
- Clive Tilly faces charges of robbery and assault.
- Dean Martin is charged with robbery.
Both men have been remanded in custody and are due to appear at Medway Magistrates’ Court on Friday, 10 September 2020.
