Brighton Drug Dealers Jailed After Massive Class A Haul

Two men have been locked up for running a drug empire out of Brighton. Ivan Bokolo and Ebrima Macauley were caught red-handed dealing deadly class A drugs from a flat in Cannon Place.

Police Raid Uncovers Heroin and Crack Cocaine Stockpile

Officers stormed the property at 8am on August 23, 2020, initially investigating a different matter. Inside, they found over 200 wraps of heroin and crack cocaine stashed in a room.

Both Bokolo and Macauley returned to the scene despite a police guard. Bokolo even tried to dismantle his phone in front of cops and swallowed a SIM card to hide evidence.

Luxury Bags, Cash, and Phones Linked to County Lines Operation

Later surveillance showed Bokolo running a second drug base in Richmond Place. He was caught carrying a phone used for bulk messaging drug deals under the codename “Rico.”

Inside the Richmond Place flat, police discovered a designer Louis Vuitton bag loaded with 100 wraps of class A drugs and £5,000 hidden in the cooker extractor fan. Expensive clothes inside clashed with Bokolo’s unemployed status, exposing the profits of their criminal trade.

Harsh Sentences Land on Brighton’s Drug Kingpins

Bokolo was sentenced to nine and a half years behind bars as part of Operation Orochi. Macauley received eight years for two counts of possessing class A drugs with intent to supply.

“Bokolo and Macauley were both distributing drugs which cause so much harm in our communities,” said Detective Sergeant Mark Pinder of Brighton CID.

“They were acting as part of a ‘county lines’ group operating from London into Sussex and Suffolk. This case shows our commitment to disrupting drug supply and protecting our communities from harm.”

“We work closely with other police forces, including the Metropolitan Police and the Op Orochi team, to catch offenders. Bringing class A drugs to Brighton and Hove will not be tolerated. We welcome these significant prison sentences.”
