Two Met Police Officers Charged with Sexual Assault in Central London

Two Metropolitan Police officers, Jerome Beasley, 41, and Luke Robinson, 39, have been charged with four counts of sexual assault each in relation to an alleged incident involving a woman in central London.

The incident is reported to have taken place in April while the officers were off duty. Both individuals are part of the force’s Central West Command Unit and have been suspended from duty pending further investigation.

Court Appearance Scheduled

The accused are scheduled to appear before Westminster Magistrates’ Court on Wednesday to face the charges.

A spokesperson for the Metropolitan Police confirmed the charges and stated that the allegations are being treated with the utmost seriousness. The force emphasized its commitment to maintaining high standards of professional conduct among its officers.

Investigation and Public Reaction

The case is being closely monitored by the Independent Office for Police Conduct (IOPC) to ensure transparency and accountability. Public reaction to the allegations has been one of concern, particularly in light of previous scandals involving misconduct within the police force.

The Met Police reiterated its stance that any officer found guilty of breaching the law would face severe consequences.
