Gun Threat Sparks Police Arrest in Corsham

Police swooped on a Londis store in Pickwick Road after a man threatened staff with a handgun. The alarm was raised at around 8.45pm.

Suspect Busted After Police Hunt

Officers arrived to find the man had fled. But thanks to local tips and quick enquiries, a man in his 30s from Corsham was arrested. He’s now held on suspicion of possession of a firearm with intent to cause fear of violence.

Police Promise Urgent Follow-Up

“Residents will have noticed a strong police presence overnight while we carried out our investigation,” said Insp James Brain. “We urge anyone with information to contact us immediately. Incidents like this are rare but taken very seriously. Thankfully, no one was hurt, though those involved were understandably shaken.”

The suspect remains in custody at Melksham police station for questioning.
