Shocking Attack in Nottingham: Man Thrown from Wheelchair in City Centre Assault
Victim Thrown from Wheelchair on Nottingham Streets
At around 9.50am on Wednesday, April 26, a man was violently thrown from his wheelchair at the busy junction of George Street and Carlton Street in Nottingham city centre.
Suspect Quickly Caught and Arrested
Police rushed to the scene to help the victim. While searching the area, officers swiftly identified and arrested a 26-year-old man nearby. He is suspected of assault occasioning actual bodily harm.
Further checks revealed the suspect was already wanted in connection with a separate offence. He remains in police custody as inquiries continue.
Police Appeal for Witnesses
Sergeant Christopher Johnson of Nottinghamshire Police blasted the attack: “This was a completely unacceptable attack that resulted in a man being deliberately thrown from his wheelchair and onto the street. It really should go without saying but there is simply no excuse for anyone to ever behave in this manner.”
“This is an ongoing investigation. We urge anyone who saw what happened or has information to come forward immediately.”
