Met Police Officer Arrested Over Terror Links
A serving Met Police officer has been arrested on suspicion of belonging to a proscribed right-wing terror group. The 21-year-old constable, who patrols North London with the Frontline Policing unit, was picked up by Counter Terrorism detectives on 5 March.
Bailed but Under Investigation
The officer was taken to a south London police station and has now been released on bail until late March while enquiries continue. Searches at his north London address are complete, but the probe is far from over.
Suspended and Under Scrutiny
- The Met’s Directorate of Professional Standards is involved.
- The officer has been suspended pending investigation.
- The case has been referred to the Independent Office for Police Conduct (IOPC).
Officials say there is currently no indication of any wider risk to the public. The investigation remains ongoing.
