Armed Standoff on Isle of Wight After Curtains Set Ablaze
Armed police and firefighters rushed to Avenue Road, Sandown, Isle of Wight, after a person set fire to curtains inside a property and reportedly threatened with a knife.
Emergency Services Respond to Blaze and Standoff
Calls came in just after 3pm on Wednesday. The road is shut both ways, with police cordons sealing off the scene. Neighbours in nearby homes have been evacuated for safety.
Drivers and Public Told to Avoid Area
