Knife and Gun Threat at Ashton Road Shoe Shop – Armed Robbery Attempt Foiled!

Police were called at 4pm on Tuesday 1 March 2022 after a man tried to rob Wynsors Shoes on Ashton Road, Oldham. The suspect stormed in, demanded cash, and claimed he had a knife and a gun. Luckily, he left empty-handed, fleeing down Ashton Road towards Copter Hill Road.

Staff Traumatized but Safe

Detective Constable Berry of GMP’s Oldham district said: “Thankfully, no one was harmed during this incident but it was an incredibly traumatic experience for the shop staff.”

Surprisingly, no weapons were ever shown. Still, police are taking the matter very seriously and are hunting the man responsible.

Police Release CCTV Images

Officers have shared CCTV pictures of the suspect and want anyone who recognises him to come forward. DC Berry urged:

“If you were in or near the store at the time or have any information, please get in touch with us.”
