Two Young Children Stabbed to Death in Ilford Tragedy
Detectives have named two children found stabbed to death in Ilford on Sunday, 26 April. Pavinya Nithiyakumar, a 19-month-old baby girl, and her three-year-old brother Nigish Nithiyakumar were discovered with fatal knife wounds at their home on Aldborough Road North.
Emergency Call Reveals Horror at Family Home
Police were called to the scene at around 5:30pm after receiving reports of a man and two children injured. Pavinya was pronounced dead at the scene, while Nigish was rushed to hospital but later died. A 40-year-old man at the address also suffered stab injuries and remains in critical condition in hospital.
Police Say No Suspects Being Sought
All three victims knew each other, and while no formal arrests have been made, police are not currently looking for anyone else linked to the attack. The children’s mother is being supported by specially trained officers.
Detective Chief Inspector Vicky Tunstall said: “The ending of these innocent young lives is extraordinarily tragic. We are working hard to understand what caused this.
“We are not seeking any other person(s) and there is no cause for the community to be fearful or alarmed.”
“I urge anyone with information to come forward to help us understand this horrific tragedy.”
