Hit-and-Run Horror: Police Hunt Driver After Brutal Crash on Briddlesford Road
Detectives are in hot pursuit of a man linked to a serious smash on Briddlesford Road last week. The driver, who fled the scene, has been identified but remains unnamed. Police are urging him to own up and come forward now.
BMW and Vauxhall Crash Leaves Woman Fighting for Life
The crash happened just before 6pm on Thursday, June 27, near Newport and Wootton. A BMW and a Vauxhall Astra collided. The Astra’s driver, 28-year-old Becky Wall from Ryde, suffered life-threatening injuries.
She was rushed to southampton/" title="Southampton" data-wpil-keyword-link="linked">Southampton General Hospital, where she remains in critical condition. Her family is at her bedside.
Police Plea: ‘Do the Right Thing’
Superintendent Sarah Jackson said:
“We have identified the man driving the BMW at the time of the crash. We are actively searching for him and gathering evidence. I’m appealing to him directly — you know who you are. Do the right thing and hand yourself in.”
She added: “Thanks to the public for coming forward with information. It’s vital for this investigation.”
