Tragedy Strikes Mutiny Festival: Two Dead After Taking Drugs
The Mutiny Festival in Portsmouth turned deadly after two young people died following suspected drug use. One victim, identified by friends and family as Tommy Bakeer, a shop worker and young father from West Leigh, took two pills before collapsing at the event.
Festival Horror: Two Die After Taking Pills
Just hours before his death, Tommy was desperately asking online for help to get a ticket to the festival. Sadly, he didn’t make it. Police confirmed two people – an 18-year-old woman and a 20-year-old man from West Leigh – died after falling ill at Mutiny.
The second day of the festival has since been cancelled as police and medics handled the grim situation.
Emergency Efforts Fail to Save Young Lives
Paramedics rushed to the scene after both victims were found unconscious. CPR was performed onsite, but tragically both died after being taken to Queen Alexandra Hospital.
“The deaths are not being treated as suspicious but investigations are ongoing on behalf of the coroner,” said a police source.
Police Appeal for Information
Hampshire Police confirmed they are supporting the victims’ families and working closely with festival organisers. Officers urge anyone with information to come forward by calling 101.
The festival site, King George V Playing Fields in Cosham, remains under investigation as authorities seek to piece together the full story behind the deaths.
