Massive Cannabis Farm Unearthed in Five-Storey Brighton House
Police have uncovered over 500 cannabis plants growing in nearly every room of a large five-storey property in Brighton.
Huge Haul Found Across Entire Building
Brighton and Hove’s Tactical Enforcement Unit (TEU) raided the Dyke Road house on Wednesday, November 9, acting on tip-offs from members of the public about suspicious activity.
Inside, officers discovered hundreds of fully grown cannabis plants and young saplings scattered from the basement right up to the loft — covering all three floors in between. They also found equipment set up for new crops, ready to go.
Empty Property, Active Investigation
No one was found at the property during the raid. Police are now probing to uncover who is behind the illegal grow operation.
Sergeant Speaks Out Against Drug Trade
Sergeant Mark Robinson of the TEU said: “Cannabis is a harmful, banned substance that contributes to the illegal drug trade; a practice that sows devastation among our communities.
“The sale of controlled substances goes hand-in-hand with violence, exploitation and addiction, fuelling wider criminality that spreads into all corners of society.
“We will continue to be relentless in our pursuit of perpetrators while working with our partners to address the root causes of this behaviour and safeguard those most at risk of harm.”
Police warn that cracking down on these operations is vital to tackling crime and protecting local communities from the ripple effects of drug abuse.
