Tragedy on Sharoe Green Lane: Woman Found Dead, Man Arrested
Unexplained Death Sparks Murder Investigation
Police rushed to a Fulwood home on Sharoe Green Lane just before 2pm on Sunday, May 15, after a woman was found unresponsive inside. Paramedics sadly declared the 43-year-old woman dead at the scene. Sarah Ashcroft, who lived at the address, has been named by authorities. Her death remains unexplained, and a Home Office post-mortem returned inconclusive results.
Man Held on Suspicion of Murder
A 44-year-old man from nearby Preston was arrested and is still in custody, suspected of murder. Detectives remain tight-lipped but are digging deep into the case as they hunt for answers.
Call for Witnesses as Police Investigate
Detective Chief Inspector Mark Haworth-Oates of the Major Investigation Team urged the public to come forward. He said:
“My thoughts are with Sarah’s family at this time and we continue to offer them the support of family liaison officers. While we have made an arrest our enquiries are very much ongoing and we are trying to piece together the circumstances around Sarah’s death. I would appeal to anyone who either saw anything suspicious in the area around the address on Saturday or Sunday, or anyone who knows Sarah and could have information which could assist our enquiry to come forward and contact us. Even if you think the information you have is unimportant please do come and speak to us as it could help us understand what has happened and help provide answers for Sarah’s family.”
