Police Hunt Man After Sexual Assault in Canterbury City Centre

Shocking Attack in Early Hours

Police are urgently seeking witnesses following a reported sexual assault in Canterbury city centre during the early morning of Thursday 18 July 2024. The attack happened between 1am and 3am in the North Holmes Road area, close to the junction with Havelock Street.

Man Approached Woman Near Spring Lane

A woman was allegedly approached by a man coming from the direction of Spring Lane. According to reports, the man tried to engage her in conversation before touching her under her clothing. Thankfully, the victim managed to escape the scene, heading towards Monastery Street, and later reported the incident to police.

Description of Suspect Released

The suspect is described as around 5ft 10in tall, of average build, and mixed race. He was reportedly wearing a black cap, dark blue jeans, and a dark shiny jacket.
