Cannabis Haul Worth £100k Seized in Sherwood Drug Bust
Major Drug Shipment Intercepted
Nottinghamshire Police swooped on a Sherwood address on Hucknall Road last Wednesday (16 November 2022). They were acting on a warrant tied to a massive drug shipment flown in from Los Angeles, California.
The haul? A staggering 153kg of cannabis, carefully wrapped inside packages, intercepted at the airport before reaching the UK streets.
Four Arrested and £100,000 Cash Recovered
Following the airport seizure, officers raided the Sherwood property. Four suspects were arrested and cops uncovered around £100,000 in cash stashed at the address.
Curtis Campbell, 30, from Top Valley, nottingham/" title="Nottingham" data-wpil-keyword-link="linked">Nottingham, faces charges of involvement in the illegal importation of a Class B drug. On Saturday (19 November), Campbell appeared at Nottingham Magistrates’ Court, was remanded in custody, and is set to return to Nottingham Crown Court on 16 December 2022.
Police Cracking Down on Drug Importation
“The force is determined to do everything possible, working with partners like UK Border Force, to prevent illegal drugs from hitting our streets and causing harm in our communities,” said Detective Sergeant James Hirst of Nottinghamshire Police. “I am pleased we have now been able to charge a suspect following our detailed inquiries who will now be appearing before the court.”
Three Women Released on Bail
In addition, three women aged 27, 54 and 57 were arrested in connection with the investigation. They have since been released on conditional bail as police continue their enquiries.
