Man Jailed Over Brutal Winchester Stabbing

Long Fei Zheng, arrested for a vicious stabbing in Winchester, was handed down a five-year, three-month sentence at Winchester Crown Court yesterday.

Morning Horror on Andover Road

On the morning of Thursday, 9 September 2021, just after 7am, emergency crews raced to an address on Andover Road following reports of a stabbing. The victim, a 38-year-old man, was found with multiple stab wounds to his head, thigh, back, shoulder, and wrist.

He was rushed to southampton/" title="Southampton" data-wpil-keyword-link="linked">Southampton General Hospital where he needed emergency surgery.

Justice Served

Zheng was arrested later that same morning. Yesterday, 16 March, he faced the judge for sentencing after earlier pleading guilty to causing grievous bodily harm with intent.

Detective Constable Jonathan Duggan said: “This was a shocking act of violence that could have had far worse consequences and easily have resulted in the death of a man. Fortunately, following emergency surgery, the victim survived the attack and is recovering.

“I hope this sentence sends out a clear message that violence of any kind will not be tolerated, and we will bring offenders to justice.”
