Violent Covent Garden Attacks: Police Hunt Man Over Elderly Victim’s Brain Injury
Police have unleashed a fresh appeal and a new image in their hunt for a suspect linked to two brutal assaults in Covent Garden. The shocking attacks left an elderly man with a serious head wound.
Two Shocking Strikes Near Royal Opera House
The violence erupted late on October 12, 2024, at about 10:33pm near the Royal Opera House. First, an off-duty police officer was blindsided with a punch to the back of the head. The attack seemed unprovoked and swift.
Seconds later, the same man targeted a second victim—a man in his 70s. The suspect asked for directions, then shoved the elderly man to the ground before fleeing toward Bedford Street.
The older victim was knocked unconscious and suffered a brain bleed. He needed 15 stitches for a nasty head wound. Though now discharged, he’s still feeling the effects of the violent attack.
