Festival Tragedy: Actor John Michie’s Daughter Dies in Suspected Accident

The father of 25-year-old festival-goer Louella Michie has insisted her death was a “tragic accident” — not murder. John Michie, the Holby City and former Coronation Street star, who first shot to fame in Taggart, has ruled out foul play in the sudden loss of his daughter.

Police Arrest Following Festival Death

Dorset Police were called shortly before 1am on Monday after friends reported Louella missing from the festival. A 28-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of murder to aid officers in their investigation. But John Michie has dismissed any suspicion, saying the pair were friends and that Louella’s death was a heartbreaking mistake.

“We’ve lost our angel. It’s not murder – they were friends. It was just a tragic mistake, a tragic accident. This was not a murder,” John said.

“She touched so many lives. She was so very positive, so bright, so out there. She had such energy. The tributes to her have been incredible.”

Festival Warned About Deadly Tablets

Authorities had repeatedly warned festival-goers about dangerous tablets containing “unknown chemicals.” Bestival organisers expressed their devastation over Louella’s death and pledged full cooperation with police.

“The team at Bestival are devastated to hear about this tragic news. We continue to support the police in their ongoing investigation and our thoughts and prayers are with all the woman’s family and friends,” the festival said in a statement.

Post-Mortem to Reveal Cause of Death

A post-mortem examination is due to be carried out to determine the exact cause of Louella’s death as enquiries continue.
