Car Crashes Into Pembrokeshire Campsite: Baby Miraculously Survives
A terrifying crash late Saturday night saw a blue Ford Fiesta lose control and smash into a campsite in Pembrokeshire, leaving two people seriously injured and seven others hurt.
Chaos at Newgale Campsite
The horror unfolded just after 10:30pm at the Newgale campsite, owned by Clare and Mike Harris. Clare confirmed the incredible news that a baby inside the tent hit by the car survived unharmed.
“The car was speeding down the hill, realised it needed to slow and tried to brake. It flipped and rolled several times, crashing into the tent. There was a young child, a baby, in the tent at the time, thankfully, they are okay,” said Clare Harris.
Injuries and Emergency Response
- Two seriously injured taken to hospitals: one airlifted to University Hospital of Wales, four to Glangwilli Hospital, and another to Morriston Hospital.
- Passengers inside the car were also among the injured.
- Emergency crews, including HM Coastguard and Welsh Ambulance Service, responded swiftly with six ambulances and a helicopter landing site set up.
Police Appeal for Witnesses
Dyfed Powys Police closed the A487 overnight reopening it by 7:45am Sunday. The car was believed to be travelling from Roch towards St Davids. Investigators are hunting for dashcam or doorbell footage from anyone near the crash site.
“We are especially interested in any footage capturing the blue Ford Fiesta on the run from Roch to Newgale,” said police.
