Detectives are appealing for information after two men tried to steal a tan-coloured lurcher dog from a street in Gillingham on 18 March 2021.

The two men got out of a black estate car on Grange Road, near Hazlemere Drive in the town, at around 9pm and tried to steal the dog from its owner. They drove off when an unknown man in a white transit van drove past and shouted at them.

The two white men had English accents and were aged either in their late 30s or early 40s. The man who got out of the car’s passenger seat wore jeans and a hoodie.

Officers are interested in hearing from anyone who may have seen the incident or who may have recorded it via CCTV, dashcam or mobile phone.
