Lifeboat Rescues Stranded Motorboat Near No Man’s Land Fort

The RNLB Alfred Albert Williams was launched at 2.45pm today after a 24-foot motorboat broke down near No Man’s Land Fort. The UK Solent Coastguard called for help when the vessel’s engine started smoking and it began taking on water with three people onboard.

Swift Response from Alfred Albert Williams

The Tamar All Weather Lifeboat wasted no time reaching the scene. Upon arrival, the crew found only minor water ingress. They quickly hooked up a tow and headed towards Chichester Harbour to bring the boat and its passengers to safety.

Tow Handed Over to Hayling Lifeboat

Once clear of the shipping channel, the tow was transferred to Hayling RNLI’s Atlantic 85 lifeboat. The Alfred Albert Williams then returned to the Offshore Boathouse, arriving back by 4.15pm after a smooth and efficient rescue operation.
