Illegal Motorbike Madness Crushed in Mansfield Hotspots

Nottinghamshire Police and Mansfield District Council have slammed the brakes on illegal motorbike chaos wreaking havoc in Pleasley, Radmanthwaite, Bull Farm, and Burlington Road.

Community Teams Crack Down With Local Intel

Back in early June, Mansfield’s Anti-Social Behaviour (ASB) team teamed up with local councillors, wardens, and police to tackle residents’ noise and safety complaints head-on.

They kicked off a major leaflet drop, handing out 1,000 flyers to Pleasley locals urging them to tip off officials about illegal bike activity.

Leads Turn Into Warnings and Threats of Action

The community response packed a punch. ASB officers were flooded with 22 tips, including names and addresses tied to potential culprits.

Confirmed sightings led to two official warnings and two notice-seeking possession threats to bike owners, warning of tougher consequences if the nuisance continued.

No New Complaints as Crackdown Bears Fruit

Since that leaflet blitz, complaints have dried up. Residents are now feeding back praise to their councillors for the swift, effective action.

Inspector Kylie Davies, district commander for Mansfield, warned: “People riding motorcycles this way are not only loud and disruptive but putting lives at risk. We won’t stand for it.

“If you’re caught riding illegally, we will stop you, fine you, seize your bike if possible, and push for prosecution.”

Councillor Angie Jackson, Wellbeing and Safer Communities boss, added: “This community-led effort has delivered brilliant results in just six weeks. Huge thanks to the residents who shared intel.

“Everyone has a duty to report anti-social behaviour to keep Mansfield a safe and vibrant place to live, work and visit.”
