Inferno Strikes After Midnight
A massive fire tore through a block of terraced houses in Emperor’s Gate, South Kensington, in the early hours of Friday, March 1. The blaze sparked shortly after midnight, leading to a huge emergency response. Around 11 people have been treated for smoke inhalation so far.
Firefighters Battle Fierce Flames

Evacuations and Emergency Response
The London Fire Brigade (LFB) confirmed that 15 people evacuated the building before crews arrived. Emergency services set up a wide cordon to keep the public safe as they worked tirelessly to contain the flames. The full scale of injuries remains unknown, with ongoing concerns over casualties.

LFB said, “Fifteen fire engines and around 100 firefighters have been called to the fire at Emperor’s Gate,” highlighting the gravity of the situation. The cause of the fire is not yet clear, and investigations are expected to start soon. Residents are urged to stay alert and follow instructions from emergency personnel.
