A three-story block of maisonettes had been hit by an industrial telehandler forklift truck. London Ambulance Service crews transported one man from the affected maisonette to the hospital. Another five people were unharmed when they exited the building.
“Crews arrived on scene to find that the large forklift had overturned and come to rest on a first floor window,” said Sub Officer Cam Bee, who was on the scene.
“Fortunately, it landed on a non-load bearing part of the building, limiting damage to the maisonettes to that area rather than affecting the entire structure of the block.”
“Crews secured the area and erected a 25-meter cordon as a precaution.”
This isn’t a typical day for firefighters, and it just goes to show the variety of incidents our crews respond to.
The Fire Brigade was called in at 2.54pm and the incident was over by 3.58pm on Tuesday, three fire engines from Southall, Northolt, and Park Royal were dispatched to the scene (5th July).
