Ten charged following protests in Kent on the M25 by Just Stop Oil

A total of ten people have now been charged following protests on motorway gantries over the M25. A number of incidents have been reported between Monday 7 and Thursday 10 November 2022 at junction 41A and 1B. Officers also stopped and searched a car near Westerham where a group of people were detained and climbing equipment was seized. On Friday 11 November 2022, the following individuals were charged with conspiracy to commit public nuisance and were due to appear at Colchester Magistrates’ Court. • David Mann, 50, of Kerry Avenue, Ipswich • Cressida Gethin, 20, of The Southend Ledbury, Herefordshire • Guido Wieser, 18, of Pentonville Road, London • Christopher Ford, 45, of Carlton Way, Cambridge • Phoebe Plummer, 21, of Elms Road, London

Earlier in the week five other people were charged with intentionally or recklessly causing a public nuisance: • Pavel Sousek, 71 of Bude in Cornwall • Gaie Delap, 75 of Upper Cheltenham Place, Bristol, Somerset • Theresa Norton, 54, of Esplanade Gardens in Scarborough, North Yorkshire • Lucia Whittaker-de-Abreu, 33, of Arthur Street in Derby • Molly Berry, 70, of Lower Icknield Way, Marsworth, Buckinghamshire They are next due to appear in court in December 2022.
