Detectives Wrap Up Search for Missing Man Shah in Bucks Woodland
Detectives hunting for Mohammed Shah Subhani – known as ‘Shah’ – have finished their gruelling search in a Beaconsfield woodland. On Thursday, 19 December 2019, police confirmed the human remains found near Hedgerley Lane, Beaconsfield, were Shah’s.
Evidence Haul Amid Challenging Conditions
Detective Chief Inspector Noel McHugh, leading the probe, said the operation began in early December. “We recovered a significant amount of evidence, including over 200 bags of soil,” he revealed. “The soil will be wet sieved to extract more clues before being returned to the site.”
McHugh described the investigation as “the worst of times” for Shah’s family, praising his team’s efforts under tough conditions. “Our appeals have helped us identify witnesses even seven months after the search began,” he added.
Call for Witnesses: £20,000 Reward Still Up for Grabs
DCI McHugh issued a stark message to those holding back info. “There are people out there who haven’t come forward, possibly out of misplaced loyalty or fear. We guarantee complete confidentiality,” he said.
“Imagine the pain your silence causes Shah’s family. Please come forward—your tip could bring justice.”
He urged anyone with information to contact police on 101 or anonymously via CrimeStoppers. To date, nine arrests have been made, and a £20,000 reward stands for information leading to a conviction.
