A Southampton man who threw bricks and concrete at police has escaped prison.

Mark Peter Johnson threw bricks and large pieces of concrete at police while under the influence of alcohol.

On March 25, this year, an incident occurred on Foundry Lane in Shirley.

Although there were some mental health concerns, the 37-year-behavior old’s was not justified.

He admitted two counts of assaulting an emergency worker by beating at Southampton Magistrates’ Court.

Johnson, of Earls Road, Southampton, was sentenced to four months in prison, but the sentence was suspended for two years.

He was ordered to attend alcohol treatment sessions and pay a fine of £100.

In addition, he was ordered to pay court costs.
