In the early hours of Thursday morning, firefighters from St Mary’s, Hightown, and Eastleigh were dispatched to a garage and flat fire in Southampton.
As they approached, smoke could be seen streaming from the roof.
The fire, which started in a storage garage and spread to the flat above, was put out by firefighters. Firefighters battled the blaze to prevent it from spreading to the adjacent flats.
Mark Woods, the group’s manager, said:
“Crews worked extremely hard and diligently to put out the fire, limiting it to the garage and a single flat and preventing it from spreading to adjacent flats.”
“To handle the scene and provide help, we worked alongside the Police, SCAS, and Red Cross.”
